Description

This is an old financial document, a bearer share issued by the "Société Nouvelle de la Teinturerie de la Chaussée Romaine", visible in the photo. The certificate features a main cartouche framed by a wide pink border with stylized floral motifs, typical of 1920s documents. The central print, on a pale green background, states the nominal value of the share: 100 Francs, as well as the allocation number (005.003), visible at the bottom right of the main part.

The top of the document displays the full name of the company, its status as a public limited company, and the address of its head office in Saint-Quentin (Aisne). The inscriptions are clear, printed in black and red on slightly satin-finish paper. Several printed signatures of administrators appear at the bottom of the main title.

The lower half of the document consists of a grid of detachable coupons, numbered and bearing the share reference. These coupons are still attached, which emphasizes the complete and decorative nature of the item. The whole is printed on a single sheet, without apparent binding or framing.

The general condition appears good: the sheet shows slight creases, probably original, with no tears or major stains visible on the presented side. The colors are well preserved, the contrast between the pink border and the pale green background remains striking, making it a popular decorative item for wall decor or for economic history enthusiasts.

This type of financial security, also called "old stock certificate" or "vintage share", is sought after for its historical value and its graphic aesthetic, emblematic of administrative documents from the early 20th century.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Shows slight creases, no major visible defects on the shown side.

Did you know? Bearer shares were commonly used in France until the mid-20th century. Their particularity was that they did not bear the owner's name, which facilitated transfers. The "Teinturerie de la Chaussée Romaine" testifies to the industrial dynamism of Aisne in the 1920s, a period of economic reconstruction after the First World War.
