AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
An old financial certificate visible in the photo; it is a bearer share issued by the Société d'Appareillage et Forges de Villers-Cotterets. The document features a typical 1920s layout, with a decorative frame printed in brown and red tones, characteristic of interwar period stocks and bonds. The center of the certificate bears the inscription "Action de Deux Cent Cinquante Francs au Porteur" (Bearer Share of Two Hundred and Fifty Francs), with the issue number 000610 clearly visible, as well as the company name and its registered office in Villers-Cotterets.
The upper part of the document mentions "Talon de l’Action de Deux Cent Cinquante Francs au Porteur" (Stub of the Bearer Share of Two Hundred and Fifty Francs), indicating the presence of the original stub, still attached to the main certificate. The whole is printed on paper, with a texture that appears smooth and matte on the visible side. The edges are adorned with a wide, antique graphic motif, enhancing the decorative aspect of this type of financial document.
In the lower part, a series of detachable coupons can be observed, each numbered 000610, intended to be submitted when dividends are paid. The coupons are arranged in a grid and feature the same ornamental border as the rest of the certificate, with the mention "Société d’Appareillage & Forges de Villers-Cotterets" on each coupon. All visible elements are well preserved, with no tears or apparent missing parts on the presented side.
The period typographic printing uses classic fonts and geometric ornaments, typical of early 20th-century financial documents. The legibility of the main inscriptions is excellent: the exact issue date is not visible in the photo, but the typography and presentation correspond well to the 1920s, as mentioned in the keywords.
This old certificate stands out for its elongated rectangular format and the complete presence of its coupons, which is particularly sought after for authenticity and decorative interest. The dominant colors are reddish-brown for the border and beige for the background, with black and dark red inscriptions.
