Description

An old financial certificate visible in the photo, it is a bearer share issued by the Société Anonyme des Entreprises A. Monod. This document, representative of the 1920s, is printed on paper with a typical presentation of French stock certificates from that era. The visible side shows a large page adorned with a finely printed decorative frame and a central cartouche detailing the company name, the share amount (5,000 francs), the individual number (081944), and legal notices. The main printing ink is black, with blue and red stamps and signatures, giving the whole an authentic period aesthetic.

On the right side of the document, there is a sheet of detachable coupons, each bearing the company name and the same share number. The coupons are marked with red "ENTREPRISES A. MONOD" stamps, indicating period validation. The overall visual is characteristic of early 20th-century French financial issues, with classic typography and geometric patterns on the border.

The paper has a slightly ivory or whitened appearance, typical of old official documents. Visible mentions include the share capital (300,000,000 francs), the registered office in Paris, and the date of statutory incorporation (December 1920). The graphic style, composition, and presentation of the coupons comply with 1920s administrative practices, which clearly identifies the issuance period.

The handwritten signature and visible stamps reinforce the authenticity of the certificate. The whole is clearly legible, with no major stains or visible tears on the shown side. There is a slight patina and some characteristic folds of a preserved period document, with no major visual defects in the photographed area.

This type of financial certificate, also called a "bearer share," was common in the management of French public limited companies, allowing the transfer of the certificate without nominative registration. The photographed item is an excellent example of a historical stock document for decorative or educational purposes.

The layout, printed motifs, and the presence of numerous coupons enhance the visual interest of the document, both for economic history and the aesthetics of old paper.

Condition

Used item sold as is. The visible side shows good legibility, a slight paper patina, some signs of use, with no major apparent defects.

Did you know? Bearer shares were particularly popular in France until the 1930s. They facilitated the transfer and anonymity of shareholders but were gradually replaced by registered shares from the mid-20th century, for reasons of security and financial transparency.
