Description

This vintage document shown in the photo is a bearer share from the "Chemins de fer de l'Extrême-Orient" company, typical of stock certificates issued in the 1920s. The presented front features a wide, light blue decorative border, characteristic of old financial market documents. The center of the certificate indicates the value "Action de Cinq Cents Francs" (Share of Five Hundred Francs), accompanied by a handwritten number (N° 11034) and visible signatures, authentic elements of this type of certificate.

On the right side, the document presents a series of detachable coupons, printed in a classic style with the repeated mention "Chemins de fer de l'Extrême-Orient," each numbered and dated. These coupons, historically used to collect dividends, are still attached, which gives the whole an additional decorative and historical value. The paper appears slightly yellowed by time, with edges showing some visible signs of wear in the image, attesting to its age.

The ornamental motifs of the frame, based on geometric figures and rosettes, evoke the graphic style of the 1920s. The typographic printing, the calligraphy of the signatures, and the meticulous presentation are consistent with the production of vintage financial certificates. The central text, in French, mentions the head office in Paris and a high share capital, recalling the economic context of the era.

The general presentation, with the main sheet and the coupons aligned on the right, highlights the authentic and complete aspect of this old stock certificate. No reverse or internal details are visible in this image; only the front is displayed.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The document shows visible signs of wear on the edges and yellowing of the paper, typical of old certificates. Overall legibility remains good, with all major elements clearly visible on the presented front.

Did you know? Bearer shares, like this one, were commonly used in the early 20th century to facilitate exchanges on financial markets. Certificates from railway companies in Asia or the Orient are particularly sought after for their graphics and their history linked to the major infrastructure projects of the time.
