Description

An old financial certificate, visible in the photo, this is a bearer share issued by the Banque Syndicale de Paris. This document, dated March 30, 1927, is printed on light-colored paper, adorned with a wide decorative blue-grey border featuring a floral and foliage motif, typical of banking and financial productions from the early 20th century. The central text is printed in black, with uppercase lettering, and the share number is clearly displayed: No. 008,605.

The upper part displays the bank's name, the administrators, the address of the registered office (32 rue de Trévise, Paris) as well as the mention "Action de 250 Francs au porteur entièrement libérée" (Share of 250 Francs fully paid bearer). Several printed signatures are visible at the bottom of the main frame. A stamp with the "BSP" (Banque Syndicale de Paris) motif also appears in red ink on the document.

The lower part shows a series of detachable coupons numbered from 18 to 44, each bearing the bank's name, the share number, and the coupon number (e.g., "VINGT-HUITIÈME COUPON" - TWENTY-EIGHTH COUPON). The coupons are printed in blue and red on a white background and remain attached to the main share. The paper's texture is clearly visible, showing a slight patina and some handling marks, typical of a period document.

The inscriptions and ornamentations are clear and legible on the visible side, with no major signs of alteration. The graphic style, typography, and presentation of the coupons are characteristic of French shares from the 1920s.

Condition

Used document, sold as is. The share shows slight paper undulation, some usual folds, and small handling marks visible on the edges. The main inscriptions and coupons are well-preserved and perfectly legible on the visible side.

Did you know? Bearer shares were commonly used in France until the end of the 20th century. This type of security allowed its holder to claim ownership and dividends without registered names, which facilitated transfer but also raised questions of security and traceability. Since 2017, bearer shares are no longer authorized in France for reasons of financial transparency.
