Description

This document is a bearer share certificate issued by the limited company "Cinéma-Films-Attractions CIFIA" based in Antwerp. The visible side features a neat layout with an ornamental blue border with intertwined geometric patterns, typical of mid-20th century financial documents. The center of the document displays a pale pink cartouche containing the main information, including the company name, the amount of share capital, the share number (0867), as well as the mention "Action de Capital de 1000 francs". Several handwritten signatures are visible at the bottom of the document, attesting to its administrative authenticity.

On the right side of the document, a sheet of detachable coupons is visible. Each coupon bears the share number "0867" and includes the company name. The coupons are printed in pink with a blue border, reflecting the general aesthetic of the main certificate. The entire document is printed on smooth, cream-colored paper, with a refined graphic rendering typical of Belgian financial securities of the period. The overall condition of the item appears very clean, with no visible stains or tears on the displayed side.

The main inscriptions are perfectly legible: "Cinéma-Films-Attractions CIFIA Société Anonyme Anvers", "Action de Capital de 1000 francs", "Anvers, le 10 janvier 1955", as well as mentions related to the creation of the certificate and the printer (K. Schoyens, Heuleuxem). The typography and presentation clearly evoke a mid-20th century issue, confirmed by the handwritten date and the graphic style.

The sheet of coupons, complete on the visible part, is typical of old shares allowing holders to receive dividends or interest at regular intervals. The coupons are numbered, each bearing the same reference as the main share, an element sought after for authenticity and presentation in a collection.

This type of document, both a title of ownership and a testament to economic history, is particularly appreciated for its retro aesthetic and historical interest. It can be framed for vintage decoration or used as a reference piece in documentation on Belgian cinema and amusement companies of the 20th century.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The visible side shows no major defects, no creases, and no noticeable stains. The inscriptions and coupons are clear and legible.

Did you know? Bearer shares, like this one, were common in Europe until the late 20th century. They allowed investors to remain anonymous and were transferable without formalities. In Belgium, legislation progressively restricted their use from the 2000s in favor of registered securities, for reasons of financial transparency.
