AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
This document is an authentic bearer share issued by Crédit Foncier Argentin, dated July 7, 1900, as evidenced by the inscription at the bottom of the title. The visible side presents a typical composition of early 20th-century financial securities, with a wide decorative brick-red border featuring floral and ornamental motifs. The central print is on beige paper with a slightly yellowed appearance, testifying to its age. At the top, the name "CRÉDIT FONCIER ARGENTIN" is printed in capital letters, accompanied by legal mentions and the value of the share capital. The mention "Part Bénéficiaire au Porteur" (Bearer Profit Share) appears in large font, followed by the unique number 48580.
The upper part of the document features several original handwritten signatures as well as official red stamps, including a seal dated 1910, reinforcing the authenticity and historical interest of this share. The central visual, at the bottom of the main section, depicts an engraving illustrating an agricultural allegory, typical of financial securities of this period, surrounded by classical motifs.
The lower part of the document consists of a regular grid of detachable coupons, all numbered and bearing the mention "CRÉDIT FONCIER ARGENTIN - Part Bénéficiaire n° 48580". These coupons, used to collect dividends or interest, are still attached, which is rare for this type of old document. On the right, a side column of additional coupons is also visible, confirming that the entire set is complete on the photographed side.
The paper shows a slight patina, marked creases, and small traces of wear consistent with its age, with no tears or major stains visible on the exposed surface. The inscriptions are perfectly legible, with elegant typography and well-preserved inks. The ensemble offers a beautiful example of a historical financial document, both decorative and representative of the banking practices of the time.
The graphic style, composition, and typography place this security in the Art Nouveau period, characteristic of the years 1900-1910, with a predominance of stylized floral motifs and symmetrical ornamentation.
