Description
This document is an old financial certificate, specifically a bearer share from the Société du Domaine de Karmoudah, visible on the main side. The share, with a face value of 34,000 francs, is presented in a typical 1920s layout, with a decorative brick-red border surrounding a cream background. On the left side, the full name of the company and the mention "Action au Porteur entièrement libérée" (fully paid bearer share) are clearly visible, along with the unique number 003805. The handwritten signature "M. Kaouli" appears at the bottom left, as well as a circular blue stamp marked "Société du Domaine de Karmoudah" with the initials "DK" in the center.
On the right side of the image, a sheet of detachable coupons is perfectly visible. Each coupon is numbered and bears the reference 003805, identical to that of the main share. The coupons also feature a blue stamp similar to that on the main document. The whole presents an arrangement typical of old stock certificates, with a retro aesthetic recognizable by the typography and printed motifs of the era.
The medium shows a slightly yellowed paper appearance, consistent with the document's age. No major tears or structural defects are visible on the exposed side, apart from some discreet traces of wear at the edges, indicating prolonged use or storage. The inscriptions are clear and legible, both on the main title and on the attached coupons.
The general presentation, with its sober tones and the characteristic layout of historical shares, gives this document a particular interest for wall decoration or historical study. The object is placed on a wooden tray, which highlights its elongated format and the integrity of the coupon sheet, which is not detached.
This type of old certificate, known as "bearer shares," was common in the first half of the 20th century and allowed its holder to exercise the rights attached to the share without registered ownership.
Condition
Used item, sold as is. Some visible traces of wear on the edges and a slight paper patina, with no major apparent defects on the side shown.
Did you know? Bearer shares were widely used in the early 20th century to facilitate the circulation of financial securities, as they were not nominative. Their issuance was gradually limited, then prohibited in France from the end of the 20th century for reasons of financial transparency.
