Description

This period document is a bearer share certificate issued by the company "EmailleRies de la Marne". The visible side features a main pale green certificate with an ornamental blue-green frame, and the central inscription "ACTION DE CINQUANTE FRANCS au porteur" (FIFTY FRANCS BEARER SHARE). The share number (052245) is clearly printed, along with the mention "ENTIEREMENT LIBÉRÉE" (FULLY PAID). The typography, graphic style, and wording are characteristic of French shares from the 1920s, a period confirmed by visual cues and the mention "1929" at the bottom of the document.

The document is complemented by a sheet of detachable coupons aligned on the right, each bearing the inscription "EMAILLERIES DE LA MARNE" and the share number 052245. These coupons are printed in regular frames, typical of old shares and bonds, allowing for the collection of dividends or interest. The presentation on tinted paper, the geometric pattern border, and the printed signatures reinforce the authenticity and age of the security.

The main text, perfectly legible, specifies the registered office in Paris, as well as the nominal value of the share. The whole is enhanced by high-quality printing, typical of financial documents of the era, and intended to guarantee the authenticity and confidence of investors at the time.

The visible side shows no major signs of wear, nor any significant stains or creases, although the patina of old paper is noticeable. The colors remain fresh and the inscriptions clear. No major defects are observable on the illustrated part.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Presents a good overall preservation on the visible side, with well-preserved inscriptions and colors.

Did you know? Bearer shares were very common in France until the mid-20th century. They allowed their holder to remain anonymous and to collect dividends by simply presenting the corresponding coupon, a practice now obsolete for reasons of financial transparency.
