Description
This document, visible in the photo, is a bearer share issued by the limited company "Fabricants de Tissus Réunis", whose head office was based in Paris. It is a one-hundred-franc share certificate, printed on paper, characteristic of French stock market issues from the early 20th century. The border features a wide blue geometric pattern, typical of the 1920s, with an intricate frieze and an elaborate frame. The title "Fabricants de Tissus Réunis" is perfectly legible at the top of the document, followed by the mention of the share capital and the value of the share.
The lower part of the certificate contains a series of numbered coupons, also printed in blue, each bearing the company's stamp and the security number, here "026191". These coupons are still attached, which enhances the interest of this document for display or conservation. The handwritten mentions and printed signatures, as well as the round stamps visible on each coupon, testify to the authentic and administrative nature of this old security.
The paper has a slightly patinated ivory hue, with clear printing of the blue and black inks. No support details, watermarks, or other security elements are visible on this side. The upper part of the document is slightly curved, revealing the supple texture and overall condition of the paper, without excessive rigidity.
The graphic style, typography, and nature of the information indicate a typical production of the 1920s, consistent with the keywords provided. The whole appears as a period certificate, both decorative and representative of French economic history. The document does not seem to have any major tears or apparent stains on the visible side, although slight traces of wear or handling may be observed at the edges.
The main inscriptions are perfectly legible, notably: "ACTION DE CENT FRANCS AU PORTEUR" (BEARER SHARE OF ONE HUNDRED FRANCS), "FABRICANTS DE TISSUS RÉUNIS", "AU CAPITAL DE 2,100,000 FRANCS" (WITH CAPITAL OF 2,100,000 FRANCS), as well as the signatures and the security number. The coupons at the bottom repeat the legal mentions and the serial number, accompanied by the official stamp.
Condition
Used item, sold as is. The share shows a slight patina, some signs of wear or handling on the edges, and a visible curvature on the upper part. The inscriptions and patterns remain clear and well-defined on the visible side.
Did you know? Bearer shares were common in France until the 20th century, allowing the free circulation of securities without nominative mention. The attached coupons were used to collect dividends at the due dates set by the issuing company. This type of certificate is today a valuable testimony to French financial and industrial history.
