Description

This document is a bearer share certificate issued by the "Franco Canadienne de Participations" company. It is an authentic financial security, dated April 1, 1939, with a face value of one hundred francs. The front features a wide light blue decorative border with geometric patterns, framing the text printed in period typography. The company name, "Franco Canadienne de Participations," is inscribed in capital letters in the center, above the mention "Société Anonyme au capital de trois millions de francs" (Limited company with a capital of three million francs). The registered office is indicated as Paris.

The upper part of the document bears the share number "313.315," as well as the handwritten signatures of two directors. A circular red stamp with the letters "FCP" is affixed to the left, typical of securities from the 1930s-1940s. The entire document is printed on paper with a slightly yellowed appearance, reflecting its age.

The lower part of the document features a series of twenty-four detachable coupons, arranged in a grid, each numbered and bearing the mention "Franco Canadienne de Participations," the share number, and a red stamp. These coupons were intended to be cut out when dividends were paid, which demonstrates the original function of this security.

The paper's finish shows a slight patina, indicating the object's age and authenticity. The framing patterns, the fonts used, and the general presentation are characteristic of French financial documents from the first half of the 20th century.

The document is displayed open, fully showing the front and all the coupons. No back or details on the reverse are visible in the photo.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Slight signs of wear visible on the edges, age patina, archive folds. The main inscriptions and coupons are perfectly legible. Authentic stamps and original handwritten signatures are present.

Did you know? Bearer shares like this one were commonly used in France until the mid-20th century. They allowed their holder to cash in dividends anonymously, without nominal registration, which led to their gradual abolition for reasons of financial transparency from the 1980s onwards.
