Description

This document, visible in the photo, is an old bearer bond issued by Établissements Kahn, Lang & Manuel. It is a financial security dated March 1, 1923, clearly indicated at the bottom of the document. The bond features a wide decorative border with black and grey geometric patterns, typical of financial documents from the early 20th century. The central text is printed in black ink on a pale background, with several authentic stamps and handwritten signatures visible on the front.

The bond bears the mention "Obligation Hypothécaire de 500 Francs 6½%" (Mortgage Bond of 500 Francs 6½%), as well as the issue number "No 03413". Several detachable coupons are still attached to the right side of the document, each bearing the company name, a distinct numbering, and orange-red stamps. The entire document is printed on paper with a slightly yellowed appearance, which attests to its age. The red seal of the company is also visible, as is the mention of the share capital (12 million francs) and the head office in Paris.

The typography, graphic composition, and the presence of multiple stamps and signatures are characteristic of shares and bonds issued in the 1920s in France. The layout highlights the company name in capital letters, surrounded by complex frames, giving this security a decorative appeal sought after by financial history enthusiasts.

On the visible part, no major tears are observable, but a slight fold is perceptible in the lower left corner. The main inscriptions remain perfectly legible, particularly the legal mentions, the value of the bond, the date, and the administrator's signature. The back and other sides are not visible in the photo.

This document is presented on a wooden background, which enhances its retro aesthetic and period graphics. It is a true testament to France's economic heritage from the early 20th century.

Condition

Used item sold as is. Some signs of paper wear are visible, including a slight fold, without major degradation on the presented face.

Did you know? Bearer shares like this were common in the 1920s in France. They allowed their holder to exercise financial rights without their name appearing on the company's registers, which facilitated their transfer and trading. Since the end of the 20th century, this type of share is no longer issued in France for reasons of transparency and the fight against money laundering.
