Description
This document is an old financial certificate, specifically a bearer share issued by Établissements Kahn Lang & Manuel. It is a 500 franc mortgage bond at 6 ½%, dated March 1, 1923, as clearly indicated by the central inscription. The visible side features an intricate ornamental frame, typical of the 1920s style, with meticulously printed geometric and floral motifs, in black and red ink on an off-white background.

The document includes a central cartouche displaying the company's name, its capital ("12 million francs"), its registered office in Paris, and the bond number ("03185"). Several official mentions and red stamps are visible, including a circular stamp "ÉTABLISSEMENTS KAHN LANG & MANUEL S.A. PARIS". Two handwritten signatures of administrators are also present at the bottom right.

On the right side, there is a series of attached, numbered, and stamped coupons, used to collect interest over the years. These coupons, printed in the same color palette, are partially perforated, proving that some have been detached or used. The entire document is printed on paper with a slightly yellowed appearance, consistent with the period.

The typography used, the decorative style of the border, and the overall presentation are characteristic of French financial documents from the early 20th century, a time when careful engraving and printing gave these certificates particular aesthetic value. Since the reverse side is not visible, only the characteristics of the front can be described.

Condition
Used item sold as is. The document shows slight undulations and some signs of handling, particularly visible on the edges. The print remains clear and legible. The side coupons are partly present, some having been detached as shown by the perforations.

Did you know? Bearer bonds were a common way to finance companies in the early 20th century, with each coupon entitling the holder to an interest payment at regular intervals. Old certificates from French companies, such as those from Kahn Lang & Manuel, are now sought after for their historical and aesthetic value, testifying to the industrial and financial vitality of the era.
