Description

Authentic antique financial document, this is a bearer share issued by the limited company "Omnium de France et du Maroc", dated precisely July 12, 1923. This stock certificate features an aesthetic typical of the 1920s, with an ornamental blue-grey frame with geometric patterns and central black printing on cream paper. The upper part highlights the company's name, followed by legal mentions and the share amount ("Privileged Share of 300 Francs"), as well as the handwritten individual number (N° 038523).

The document is enhanced with a central red cartouche bearing the "France Maroc" seal, a striking visual element. Below the main title, the handwritten signature of an administrator is visible, as well as the mention of the date and place of issue in Paris. The text and mentions are perfectly legible on the displayed side.

The lower part of the document features a large grid of detachable coupons, numbered and individually stamped with the company's red seal. These coupons are aligned in columns, each bearing the title "Privileged Share" with a reference and coupon number, confirming the authentic nature of the certificate. The entire, uncut sheet highlights the period stamp, typography, and graphics characteristic of early 20th-century stock documents.

The paper shows a slight original patina, with some visible undulations at the top edge, typical of old documents exposed to air. No major defects are visible on the shown side, apart from discreet signs of age, with no tears or apparent stains.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The entire document visible in the image is in good visual condition, with patina and signs of age consistent with its age. The inscriptions and stamps remain very clear.

Did you know? Bearer shares were common in the early 20th century: they were transferable without formality, which facilitated their circulation on the stock market. French colonial companies, such as Omnium de France et du Maroc, then played a central role in financing infrastructure and trade between the mainland and its overseas territories.
