AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
Authentic old financial document, it is a bearer share issued by the company PALLADIUM, visible in the photo. The full mention indicates "Action de Mille Francs au porteur N°165202" (Bearer Share of One Thousand Francs N°165202), accompanied by the company name and its headquarters in Argenteuil (Seine-et-Oise). The presentation highlights an elaborate ornamental frame in a geometric style, typical of administrative documents from the early 20th century.
The upper part of the document highlights the name "PALLADIUM" in large characters, surmounted by a red medallion with a stylized effigy and the mention "Participation Ouvrière" (Worker Participation). The main inscriptions are printed in brown and red, on a cream-white background with a regular grid pattern in the background. Several original handwritten signatures appear at the bottom of the main area, attesting to the authenticity of the document.
The lower part presents a series of detachable coupons, all numbered "PALLADIUM N°165202", with different values and dates visible, as well as circular red stamps. Each coupon is bordered by a printed frame and has a date mention, typical of old shares allowing detachment for dividend or interest payments. The entire document is printed on paper with a slightly yellowed appearance, emphasizing its period age.
The graphic elements and typography, as well as the document's structure, suggest an edition most likely dating from the 1920s, consistent with the "vintage 1920s" mention in the keywords. The visual condition shows proper preservation, with no apparent tears on the visible side, and a natural patina related to its age.
Also noteworthy is the presence of several typographical security elements (fine screen, framing motifs, stamps) characteristic of old financial documents, reinforcing the historical credibility of this bearer share. The unique number (165202) is repeated on the main body and each coupon. No details are visible concerning the reverse side.
Condition
Used item sold as is. The image shows a clean surface, with no major stains or visible tears on the exposed side. Some traces of time wear and a slight patina are observable, consistent with a period paper document.
Did you know? Bearer shares were commonly used in France until the mid-20th century. They allowed holders to remain anonymous, with only the physical bearer of the title being recognized as the owner. This type of document is now sought after for its historical interest and aesthetic appeal.
