Description

This document is a bearer share certificate issued by the public limited company Paris-Foncier, dated 1927. It is an original financial security, typical of production from the 1920s in France, recognizable by its ornamental purple frame and period typography. The visible side features the large central vignette, surmounted by the name "PARIS-FONCIER" in capitals, and surrounded by sophisticated geometric motifs in burgundy-purple tones, characteristic of financial documents from the interwar period.

The document bears the inscription "Action de cent francs au porteur" (Bearer share of one hundred francs), category B, with the number 086,888. Several handwritten signatures are visible, as well as circular red stamps bearing the initials "PF". The main text specifies the address of the registered office in Paris and refers to the decision of the general assembly of October 24, 1925.

In the lower part of the page, a series of detachable coupons numbered 1 to 27 are perfectly aligned, each bearing the inscription "Paris-Foncier", the share number and category B. Each coupon also features a printed red stamp, reinforcing the authenticity and graphic character of the whole. The ensemble offers a rich visual presentation, with repetitive motifs and high-quality printing typical of print shops specializing in financial securities of the era.

The edges show a slight trace of handling visible in the photo, but no major defect is apparent. The overall readability of the inscriptions, signatures, and stamps remains excellent, making it a decorative and emblematic document for scripophily enthusiasts or economic history buffs.

The graphic style, color palette, and format are typical of French shares from the first half of the 20th century, with a retro aesthetic and structured layout. This type of document was intended to circulate physically and serve as proof of ownership and value to the bearer.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The whole is well preserved for its age, with an authentic patina and slight traces of handling visible on the edges.

Did you know? Bearer shares were commonly used in France until the 1980s. Their main advantage lay in direct transferability without formality, but they were gradually replaced by registered shares to combat anonymity in securities ownership.
