AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
Old financial security visible in the photo; it is a bearer share issued by the public limited company "Pera Palace Hôtel de Constantinople" in 1922. This document features a wide light blue decorative border with stylized floral motifs, typical of administrative and banking documents from the early 20th century. The central print clearly indicates "Action de cent francs au porteur" (Bearer share of one hundred francs), with a mention of a capital of 1,500,000 francs and the registered office in Paris, at 126 Rue Lafayette.
The visible side shows a horizontal composition, with the upper part dedicated to the main information, including the issue date (July 10, 1922), the share number (071,650), and several handwritten signatures. A circular red stamp "PPHC Pera Palace Hôtel de Constantinople" is affixed in several places, reinforcing the visual authenticity of the document.
In the lower part, a series of detachable coupons is aligned in several rows, each bearing the same red stamp as well as the hotel's name and the corresponding share number. The coupons are numbered and allowed for repetitive use for each due date planned at the time, which is characteristic of old financial securities. All elements are printed in blue on slightly yellowed paper, betraying its age.
The typography, frames, and decorative motifs are typical of the 1920s, a period when companies issued this type of share to raise funds. The inscription "entièrement libérée" (fully paid) specifies that the value of the share was fully paid upon issue. No reverse side is visible, so the description is strictly limited to the side shown in the photo.
The signatures, the share number, and the multiple visible stamps attest to the administrative authenticity of the document. The whole presents a retro aesthetic appreciated for wall decoration or historical archiving.
