Description
This vintage document is a bearer share issued by the Pera Palace Hotel in Constantinople, dated 1922, with a nominal value of one hundred francs. The visible side features an ornamental blue floral border, typical of the administrative and banking style of the early 20th century. The title of the document, "Pera Palace Hôtel de Constantinople", is inscribed in capital letters on the upper part, accompanied by the red "PPC" logo, reproduced several times on the sheet.
The center of the document details the main information: a limited company with a capital of 7,500,000 francs, registered office in Paris, Rue Lafayette 126, and legal mentions printed in a typewritten style. The handwritten date "Paris, July 6, 1922" as well as several original signatures are clearly visible, reinforcing the historical authenticity.
The lower part features numerous detachable coupons, each bearing the mention "Pera Palace Hôtel de Constantinople", the share number (074.021), and the vintage year. The coupons are adorned with a circular red stamp with the "PPC" monogram, attesting to their validity at the time of issue. The entire document has a dominant pale blue and white color scheme, with the red impressions of the stamps providing a distinctive visual contrast.
The paper texture visible in the photo suggests a classic administrative medium, with a slight embossing on the border and crisp printing of texts and motifs. No major defects are observable on the visible side, other than slight undulations of the paper consistent with the age of the document. The overall condition shows good preservation of colors and inscriptions, indicating careful storage.
This type of old security, sometimes called "retro financial security" or "collector's share," constitutes a material testimony to the economic and hotel history of the early 20th century. The striking visual of the Pera Palace Hotel, an emblematic establishment in Constantinople (now Istanbul), gives this document strong decorative and heritage value.
