Description

This document is a vintage bearer share, issued by Établissements Searle Frères, a limited company based in Paris, 127 boulevard Richard-Lenoir. The document, with typical 1920s graphics, features a complex brown ornamental frame, characteristic of old financial securities. The main title "Action de Cent Francs au Porteur" (Bearer Share of One Hundred Francs) is printed in capital letters in the center of the certificate, with the mention of the share capital and the number of shares at the top of the page.

The upper part of the security displays the company's name, legal notices, and the share number (N° 036765) perfectly legible. The space reserved for the handwritten signatures of the directors, visible at the bottom right and left, confirming the authenticity of the issue, can also be distinguished.

The lower part of the document consists of a series of detachable coupons, each bearing the company name, the share number, and a stylized graphic motif. These coupons were intended to be submitted upon dividend payment, a classic use of bearer shares of that era. The coupons are intact and aligned, indicating the good overall condition of the document.

The paper has an ivory tint with a slight patina, typical of old financial documents. The print patterns and texts are clear, with no major visible alterations on the presented side. Overall, it offers a fine example of the aesthetics of early 20th-century stock certificates, combining decorative elements and administrative rigor.

This type of certificate constitutes an authentic piece of French financial and industrial history, often sought after for its decorative and patrimonial value. The graphic elements, typography, and general presentation are characteristic of shares issued in the interwar period.

Condition

Used document, sold as is. The visible side shows good preservation, with fresh colors and perfectly legible inscriptions. The coupons are intact and not detached. No tears, folds, or major stains are observable on the exposed part.

Did you know? Bearer shares like this one were commonly used in France until the mid-20th century. Their particularity lies in the fact that ownership of the share was not nominative but transferred by simple physical possession of the security, which facilitated exchanges and liquidity in the financial market.
