Description

Old financial security visible in the photo, it is a bearer share issued by the company "TANNERIES ORLÉANAISES" (former Chicoinneau establishments). The document, dated February 7, 1929, features a quality print on paper with a decorative blue frame with concentric patterns typical of securities from the 1920s. The central part displays the company name, share capital, the mention "Bearer share B of 500 francs", as well as several printed signatures and visible red stamps.

The visual shows a large rectangular format, with numerous detachable coupons on the right, all marked with the company stamp. The main inscriptions are in blue, with elements in black and mentions in red (stamps). The typography, layout and stylized floral ornaments are characteristic of French stock market documents from the interwar period.

The paper surface shows a slight period patina, with no tears or major stains visible on the exposed side. The edges are clean, the document has remained clearly legible. The handwritten signatures and printed details (share number, date, legal notices) are perfectly visible on the central part.

This type of old security, also called an old share or stock certificate, was given to the acquirer of a company share and served both as proof of ownership and as a document for dividend payments (via detachable coupons). The ornamental motifs and authentication stamps reinforce the decorative and historical aspect of the document.

The photographed document is presented open, exposing the entire main face as well as the column of original coupons, all marked and remaining attached.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Slight yellowing of the paper and visible period wear, but no apparent major degradation on the visible face.

Did you know? French bearer shares from the early 20th century were often printed with complex patterns and colorful frames to limit counterfeiting. The detachable coupons allowed dividends to be collected without having to register each owner with the issuing company, making these documents particularly prized for the discretion they offered their holders.
