Description

This document, visible in the photo, is a bearer enjoyment share certificate issued by the company "Tavernes Pousset & Royale Réunies". It is an authentic financial security dating from the early 20th century, precisely dated July 4, 1924, according to the inscription visible at the bottom of the document. The certificate features a monochrome black print on paper, characterized by an ornamental floral and geometric frame typical of the Art Deco period.

The central mention "Action de Jouissance au Porteur" (Bearer Enjoyment Share) is highlighted by elegant typography, surrounded by refined graphic details. The certificate number, "N° 30465," is clearly visible, as is the mention "dont le capital a été remboursé" (of which the capital has been repaid), indicating the specific nature of this document in the history of joint-stock companies.

The document bears the printed stamp "TAVERNES POUSSET & ROYALE RÉUNIES" as well as two handwritten signatures, probably those of the company's administrators. A round stamp "Timbre Français Abonnement" (French Subscription Stamp) also appears on the right side, reinforcing its authenticity from that era. The registered office is indicated as Paris, which enhances its interest for French economic history.

The paper shows a slight vintage patina, with wavy edges and some visible folds, attesting to its age. The print quality remains crisp, and all text remains perfectly legible on the displayed side. No decor or figurative illustration, the style remains sober and institutional, typical of securities from the 1920s.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Some folds and undulations are visible, with no apparent tears on the photographed side. Natural age-related patina.

Did you know? Bearer enjoyment shares were common in French companies in the early 20th century. Once capital was repaid to shareholders, these securities entitled them to a share of the remaining profits, but without voting rights at general meetings. The graphic style of these documents often followed the decorative trends of their era, such as Art Deco in the 1920s.
