Description

This document is an old bearer share certificate issued by the public limited company "Tuileries de l'Aisne", dated 1923. It is a one-hundred-franc priority share, identifiable by the mention "Action de Priorité de Cent Francs au Porteur" (One Hundred Francs Bearer Priority Share) and the number visible on the main side (N° 077198). The document features a large decorative border with a golden floral motif, typical of share certificates printed in the early 20th century. The printing uses shades of beige, gold, and sepia, with black inscriptions and several red stamps bearing the company's circular logo.

Numerous detachable coupons are attached to the lower part, each numbered and marked with a red stamp "Tuileries de l'Aisne Société Anonyme". These coupons were intended for the payment of dividends or interest, a classic feature of bearer securities from that era. The elegant typography, framing, and overall presentation reflect a French administrative style from the 1920s.

The top of the document mentions the share capital of ten million francs, as well as the registered office in Paris. Clearly visible are printed handwritten signatures and a round tax stamp dated March 24, 1923. Administrative details such as the series, share number, and the designation "Action de Priorité" are clearly legible, reinforcing the authenticity of the security.

The paper surface has a slightly satin appearance, with sharp printing and well-preserved colors. The upper and lower corners are visible in the photo, with no major signs of chips or tears in the area shown. All coupons are still attached, which is rare for securities from this period. No reverse side or internal details are visible in the photograph.

This type of document, also known as a share certificate or stock certificate, constitutes a tangible testament to the economic and industrial history of France between the two world wars. The visual style, complex framing, and use of stamps are typical of vintage and antique French share certificates.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The visible side shows good overall preservation, vivid colors, legible text, and stamps. Slight handling marks possible, with no apparent defects in the area shown.

Did you know? Bearer securities like this one were commonly used in France until the mid-20th century. They allowed for the anonymous circulation of shares, without nominative registration, which facilitated stock market transactions. Since the late 1980s, this type of security is no longer issued in France for reasons of traceability and fraud prevention.
