Description

Former bearer share issued by the "Union Chapelière Française" company, visible in the photograph. This financial security printed on paper features a wide decorative red border with geometric patterns, surrounding the central text and the detachable coupons at the bottom. The document is distinguished by its header in red letters "UNION CHAPELIÈRE FRANÇAISE", followed by the mention "Société Anonyme au Capital de 41,220,000 Francs".

The face value of the share is clearly indicated: "Action de deux mille cinq cents francs au porteur – entièrement libérée" (Share of two thousand five hundred francs bearer – fully paid), with the unique number "007.039" inscribed in black ink. Several printed signatures and a blue stamp applied diagonally attest to the administrative authenticity of the document. The registered office is mentioned as being located at 33, rue Alfred-de-Musset, Carcassonne.

At the bottom, the document includes a series of detachable coupons, each numbered and bearing the same share reference. These coupons are printed in red with background patterns and feature a circular blue stamp. The entire paper exhibits high-quality printing, typical of early 20th-century financial documents, and a graphic style characteristic of the 1930s.

The paper displays a cream tint, with crisp and contrasted printing. No major defects are visible on the presented side: the document's structure is flat, without significant folds or apparent tears. The typography, framing, and stamps are well-preserved, which enhances the decorative and historical aspect of this old security.

This type of document, also known as a "financial security" or "scripophily," is particularly representative of French industrial history, here linked to hat-making. The whole, composed of the main certificate and its coupons, constitutes an authentic testimony to the stock market practices of the era.

Condition

Used document, sold as is. The visible side is in very good condition, with no stains or major alterations. The print and colors remain fresh and clearly legible.

Did you know? Bearer shares were commonly used in France until the 1930s-1940s. They allowed their holder to remain anonymous, with ownership transfer simply occurring through the delivery of the document. Today, these non-negotiable securities are sought after for their historical and decorative value.
