Description
Old bearer stock certificate issued by Union Minière Indochinoise, visible on the front. This vintage financial document features a wide ornamental charcoal grey frame with floral and geometric patterns, surrounding a central pale pink area. The title "UNION MINIÈRE INDOCHINOISE" is printed in white capital letters on a black background, occupying the upper part of the certificate.
In the center, one can see the mention "Société Anonyme au capital de 8.000.000 de francs" (Public Limited Company with a capital of 8,000,000 francs), as well as the location of the registered office in Paris, and a reference to the notary M. Ader. The inscription "ACTION DE CENT FRANCS AU PORTEUR" (ONE HUNDRED FRANC BEARER SHARE) is clearly visible, with the share number (046728) inscribed at the bottom left and repeated on each detachable coupon at the bottom.
The lower part of the document features a series of numbered coupons, each stamped with a stylized red "UMI" seal. The coupons bear the name "Union Minière Indochinoise" and the share number, making it easy to identify this type of item as an old certificate intended for dividend collection.
The handwritten signature of an administrator is present at the bottom right, accompanied by the mention "ENTIEREMENT LIBÉRÉE" (FULLY PAID UP). The whole is printed on slightly yellowed paper, typical of financial documents from the 1920s, with a neat presentation and inks of several colors (pink, grey, black, and red for the stamps).
This stock certificate is distinguished by its refined graphic style, characteristic of financial issues from the first half of the 20th century, with a repetitive pattern border and vintage typography. No reverse side is visible in the photo.
Condition
Second-hand item, sold as is. The image shows a well-preserved document, with no major folds or apparent cracks on the visible side. Colors and inscriptions remain clear. Some traces of wear or handling may be present, typical of old documents.
Did you know? Bearer shares were commonly used in the early 20th century, allowing their holder to collect dividends without their identity being recorded in the company's registers. Union Minière Indochinoise was a company active in the exploitation of mineral resources in French Indochina, a region now divided between Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.
