Description

This document, visible in the photo, is an old share from the company Splendicolor, titled "Founder's Share to Bearer". It is an authentic financial security, dated November 8, 1926, issued in Paris. The document features an ornamental purple frame with geometric and floral patterns typical of the 1920s, on a cream background. The mention "SPLENDICOLOR" appears at the top, in a decorative cartouche, and the company's name as well as the capital (1,000,000 francs) are clearly indicated.

The center of the security displays the handwritten issuance number (No. 007389) as well as the printed signatures of the administrators. The registered office "3, Place de la Madeleine, in Paris" is legible. The cartouche "Founder's Share to Bearer" is framed and highlighted, emphasizing the specific nature of this financial security.

On the right side of the document, several detachable coupons are still present, each bearing the company's name, the same number as the main security, and the mention of their rank (e.g., Fourth Coupon, Twelfth Coupon, etc.). The coupons are printed on the same paper, with a circular red overprint "SPLENDICOLOR" in the background.

The entire document stands out for the elegance of its composition: stylized lettering, ornate framing, and the use of purple, which was characteristic of official and banking documents of this period. No major defects are visible on the exposed face, except for a slight curling of the paper on the upper left corner, typical of storage in a bundle or binder.

The graphic style, typeface, and arrangement of elements perfectly correspond to the late 1920s. This type of bearer share, with attached coupons, was common for French public limited companies in the interwar period.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The overall visible condition is very satisfactory for a document of this era, with vibrant colors and legible inscriptions. Slight curl on one corner, coupons intact.

Did you know? "Founder's shares" were a type of share allocated during the creation of a company, sometimes granting special rights to profits. Bearer securities, like this one, allowed for the anonymous transfer of ownership rights, a common practice in France until regulations were tightened in the second half of the 20th century.
