Description

This rare German razor sharpener most likely dates from the early 20th century. It is a double-sided model, designed for maintaining straight razor blades (cut-throat razors). The item features a structure composed of a rounded wooden handle, attached to a rectangular functional part. The latter includes one side covered with a material that looks like patinated leather, and a second black side adorned with a well-preserved antique label.

The black side features a typographic label with the legible inscription "Juchten & Reichriemen Extra feiner" in a decorative frame, typical of German utilitarian design from the turn of the 20th century. The label, although showing signs of wear, remains generally legible and adds an authentic character to the whole. The opposite side presents a matte, dark brown surface, with visible signs of use, highlighting the object's antique character and historical function.

The handle is made of light varnished wood, displaying a beautiful uniform patina, with no visible cracks or chips on the visible area. The junction between the handle and the abrasive part is secured by an apparent metal piece, typical of the robust constructions of this era.
