Description
The document presented is an old religious monthly bulletin titled "L'Écho de la Providence", visible on the front page. The bulletin, dated April-May 1951, comes from the recognized work of La Providence in Marseille, as indicated by the printed inscriptions. The typography, paper choice, and text layout are typical of French religious publications from the mid-20th century.
In the upper left part, "No 231" is noted, suggesting a regular publication and an advanced issue number. The main title, "L'ÉCHO DE LA PROVIDENCE", is clearly legible in capital letters, accompanied by "Bulletin Mensuel" and the address "60, Rue Reine Jeanne, Marseille". Part of the printed text describes the mission of the organization, focused on moral and professional assistance, which was common in parish bulletins of that era.
The visible part also includes an excerpt of a handwritten address in blue ink, "Monsieur M. G. Blanc, 18 Rue…", typical of personalized mailings of bulletins to members or supporters. A round postal stamp is also affixed to the document, reinforcing its authenticity and original postal use.
The front has a simple layout, with generous margins and black print on cream-colored paper, slightly yellowed by time. The paper's texture, visible in the photo, shows some folds and signs of wear, consistent with an antique document handled and preserved for several decades.
The right side of the bulletin displays the period "Avril-Mai 1951", as well as information about events or announcements specific to the organization. Old Marseille telephone numbers are also distinguishable, reinforcing the document's vintage authenticity.
