Description

This archive document is an old prescription paper or examination result issued by a medical biology laboratory in Marseille, dated November 22, 1948. The visible page features a typical layout for post-war administrative medical documents, with sober typography on cream-colored paper slightly yellowed by time. The header clearly mentions "Laboratoire de Biologie Médicale" (Medical Biology Laboratory), directed by Doctor Ranque, located at 16, rue Dragon in Marseille.

The top of the document details the laboratory's official accreditations: "Laboratoire Agréé par le Ministère de la Population – N°326, Arrêté du 4 Février 1946" (Laboratory Approved by the Ministry of Population – N°326, Decree of February 4, 1946) and "Laboratoire enregistré par le Ministère de la Santé – N°884, Arrêté du 16 Février 1948" (Laboratory Registered by the Ministry of Health – N°884, Decree of February 16, 1948). Several medical analyses are listed, such as "Examens chimiques du sang" (Blood chemical tests), "Réactions sérologiques" (Serological reactions), or "Vaccins bactériens" (Bacterial vaccines). These elements demonstrate the diversity of services offered in medical biology at that time.

The central part includes a handwritten section specifying the examination number (430901), the date ("22 Nov 1948" in blue stamp), the patient's name (Mme Jeveniere Blanc, according to the handwriting), and the prescribing physician's signature (Dr J. Brunet). The period calligraphy, stamp, and presentation give this document an authentic and historical character, representative of French medical practices in the late 1940s.

The document is presented open, showing the main side with its printed and handwritten inscriptions. No reverse side or other page is visible in the photo. The general condition shows signs of natural use, with some creases and slight patina on the edges, typical of old administrative papers that have been handled and archived.

This type of document is of particular interest for research on the history of medicine, medical biology, or hospital administration in post-war France. It also evokes the country's health and administrative context in the years following World War II.
