This antique issue of Journal des Brodeuses is a professional embroidery periodical, dated September 1, 1950 (35th year, issue 686). The visible cover features rich black and white floral ornamentation, typical of the 1950s graphic aesthetic, with an elegant layout and elaborate drop caps. The main title is framed by detailed floral motifs and decorative borders, highlighting the artistic nature of the journal.

In the central part, a large "Richelieu" round doily pattern occupies a large portion of the page, accompanied by two small patterns for children (including a stylized fish and a house surrounded by flowers). The drawings are clear, intended to be reproduced by embroiderers. The handwritten table of contents appears in the left margin, listing various patterns and alphabets for various textile uses (sheets, dresses, pouches, monograms, etc.), which reflects the diversity of patterns offered in this issue.

The paper surface shows signs of age, with yellowed coloration, pronounced creases, and some visible tears, mainly along the central fold and at the top edge. However, the exposed page presents its embroidery patterns intact and usable for use or decoration. The graphic style of the patterns (stylized flowers, animals, alphabets) corresponds to the French tradition of Richelieu embroidery and household linen patterns from the 1940s-50s.
