Description
This issue of the newspaper "Lisette", dated Sunday, December 25, 1932, is an authentic example of illustrated children's press from the early 20th century. The cover, with its sober and delicately printed colors, depicts an indoor scene: a young woman standing, dressed in a long blue skirt and a light blouse, offers a tray to a person in bed in a bourgeois-decorated room, typical of the 1930s aesthetic.
The title "Lisette" is highlighted by a blue cartouche adorned with red roses, emphasizing the magazine's graphic identity. The header specifies "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Newspaper), "16 pages", and the price of 25 centimes. In the upper left, the mention "N° 52 – Douzième année (598e livraison)" (No. 52 – Twelfth year (598th delivery)) confirms the periodical's age and frequency. The editorial office's address in Paris is also clearly legible.
The illustrated scene, titled "Sans Nom (Suite)" (Untitled (Continued)), reflects the narrative and visual style of children's magazines of that era: line drawing enhanced with pastel colors, Art Deco-inspired furniture, details of domestic life (nightstand, carafe, books). The background shows decorative elements such as an ornamental vase and a portrait, reinforcing the period character.
The cover shows slight yellowing of the paper and visible signs of wear on the edges, typical signs of the natural aging of old publications. No major missing parts or tears are visible on the front.
The original inscriptions and layout are intact, with the mention of the continuation of the story "Sans Nom" and the indication of the relevant pages. The printing remains clearly legible, both for the text and the main illustration.
