Description

This old issue of the "Lisette" newspaper, dated Sunday, December 18, 1932, is an emblematic example of illustrated children's press from the early 20th century in France. The colorful cover features an illustration signed Levesque titled "Christmas Eve," showing a group of young girls dressed in colorful capes, walking outdoors in a winter setting, with buildings and a bell tower in the background.

The front page announces 16 pages of content, typical of publications from that era, printed on newsprint with a matte appearance and yellowed by time. The title "Lisette" appears in blue cursive letters on a cream background, framed by stylized roses, highlighting the graphic style of the 1930s. The mention "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Newspaper) is also found under the main banner.

The editorial details are clearly visible: issue number 51, second year of publication (597th issue), price of 25 centimes, precise date, and office address in Paris. The cover illustration, with green, blue, and ochre tones, evokes the winter and festive Christmas atmosphere, reinforced by the title of the main story "Christmas Eve."

The general condition shows signs of wear consistent with its age: yellowing of the paper, small visible stains in the lower left, slightly dulled corners, and edges showing minor handling marks. No major missing parts are visible on the presented face; the graphics remain clearly legible.
