Description

This old issue of the "Lisette" newspaper, dated Sunday, May 14, 1933, is an original copy of the illustrated press intended for young girls. The cover, typical of 1930s youth publications, features a large polychrome illustration: an indoor scene where a young girl elegantly dressed in a dark skirt and light blouse, wearing a ribboned hat, holds a pitcher in her hand, while a woman seated by a fireplace is busy in front of a fire. The image is enhanced with bold colors, with meticulous details on the clothing, rustic furniture, and rural decor elements.

The front page of the newspaper displays the famous title "Lisette" in blue handwritten letters, on an oval background, embellished with stylized floral motifs. The mentions "16 Pages" and "PRIX : 25 Centimes" are clearly visible at the top left and right, framed in yellow. The header specifies: "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Newspaper), and the address of the offices in Paris is below. The issue number indicated is 20, thirteenth year (618th delivery), authenticating this issue as an original copy from the interwar period.

The title of the large illustrated story on the cover, "Le Secret du lac (Suite)" (The Secret of the Lake (Continued)), evokes the popular serialized stories of the era, the continuation of which can be found in the newspaper (pages 8 and 9, according to the printed mention). The entire page shows a slight patina, typical of period paper, with slightly yellowed edges and slight wear on the right edge and the upper corner, with no major tears visible on the front.

The format is that of a flexible periodical, stapled binding (not visible here), with four-color printing on matte paper. No missing parts or annotations appear on the visible cover. The overall appearance indicates a good state of preservation for a pre-war youth press issue.

All visible texts and illustrations are in French, faithful to the original edition, and the cover highlights the graphic aesthetic specific to publications from the first half of the 20th century, with its late Art Deco style and vivid colors.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Some signs of age on the cover: slightly blunted corners, patina, and small marks on the edges. No tears or visible missing parts on the front.
