Description

This old issue of the "Lisette" newspaper is dated Sunday, April 16, 1933. It is an illustrated periodical intended for young girls, clearly identified on the front page as a "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Newspaper). The magazine consists of 16 pages, as mentioned in the yellow box at the top left of the cover. The overall presentation is a stapled format typical of interwar youth publications, with a soft, color-printed cover.

The cover, well-preserved for its age, features a vintage drawing with vibrant colors, depicting a group scene on a boat, heading towards a lighthouse. Several female and male characters, adults and children, are visible, dressed in a clothing style characteristic of the early 1930s. The illustration is topped with the blue title "Lisette" surrounded by two red roses, and the mention "En allant au phare" (Going to the Lighthouse) appears in a cartouche at the bottom of the page.

The following inscriptions are clearly visible: "N° 16. — Treizième année (614e livraison). Dimanche 16 avril 1933. PRIX : 25 centimes. Parait : Chaque Semaine. Journal des fillettes. Bureaux : 1, rue Gazan, Paris (XIVe)". These elements confirm the authenticity and precise dating of this issue.

The paper shows a natural patina as well as a slight brownish discoloration typical of vintage newspaper. Some corners are slightly blunted and the edges show moderate wear, with no major tears apparent on the visible face. No structural defects are observable on the cover.

The layout, graphics, and typography are characteristic of French illustrated youth press of the 1930s. The cover highlights the narrative and educational dimension of this publication, which was one of the references in children's press in France.
