Description

This document is an old copy of the illustrated newspaper "Lisette" dated Sunday, September 10, 1933, issue number 37 of its thirteenth year. The cover features colorful graphics typical of early 20th-century youth press, with "Lisette" in white handwritten lettering on a blue background surrounded by stylized floral motifs. The mention "16 pages" appears in a yellow cartouche at the top left, while the price of "25 centimes" is indicated on the right, also in a yellow box.

The cover illustration, signed Levesque, shows an outdoor scene where several little girls, dressed in navy blue dresses and light blouses, play in a circle under trees. The atmosphere is joyful and dynamic, highlighting the playful and educational nature of the magazine. The main title of the featured story is "La Maison sans Portes (Suite)" (The House Without Doors (Continued)), with an indication to continue reading on pages 8 and 9. The illustration style is both naive and detailed, emblematic of the youth press of that era.

The upper part of the newspaper mentions "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Newspaper), specifying its editorial target, as well as its weekly periodicity ("Parait : Chaque Semaine" - Appears: Every Week). The publisher's address "T. GIRA, PARIS (17e)" is visible below the title. The edges of the cover show a characteristic patina of old papers, with uniform yellowing and some sporadic stains visible on the lower right part of the page.

The left edge suggests slight wear from use, typical of a handled old newspaper. No major tears are visible on the front, but fold marks or slight undulations can be distinguished, particularly in the margins. The colors of the illustration have retained good vibrancy despite their age, with a predominance of blue, green, beige, and orange.

The graphic style, typography, and layout attest to an Art Deco-era edition, very representative of French children's press from the 1930s. This issue, complete with 16 pages as mentioned, constitutes an authentic example of illustrated youth literature from the early 20th century.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. General yellowing of the paper, small stains, and visible signs of wear on the cover. The overall condition is consistent with a period newspaper preserved without restoration.
