Description

This old issue of the newspaper "Lisette", visible in the photo, is dated Sunday, October 1, 1933. It is issue number 40, thirteenth year (638th delivery), a famous illustrated periodical intended for young girls, published in Paris. The well-preserved cover features a polychrome illustration signed Levesque depicting an interior scene: a young girl standing in front of a round table and a chair, in a classically furnished room, with a chest of drawers and a wall painting. The cover title "La Maison sans Portes (Suite)" announces the continuation of an illustrated story inside.

The typical layout of the period edition, with the "Lisette" logo in cursive letters on a blue background and adorned with roses, is accompanied by editorial information at the top of the page: "16 pages", "Price: 25 centimes", "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Newspaper). The format is that of a small youth press periodical, with rounded corners and yellowed paper, true to publications from the 1930s.

The cover shows well-preserved print colors despite an old patina, typical of newspapers from this period. The edges show moderate wear with some small tears and visible age marks, especially on the upper right corner. The overall visual evokes the illustrated charm of comic books and youth novels from the interwar period.

The visible inscriptions indicate: "Published weekly", "16 pages", "Price: 25 centimes", as well as the address of the office in Paris (1, rue Gazan, Paris XIVe). The mention "Journal des fillettes" specifies the editorial target of this historical publication.

This old periodical combines illustrated stories, comic strips, and a youth section. It is a valuable testimony to the female youth press of the early 20th century, with a cover illustration typical of the graphic art of the time.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Paper yellowed by time, visible wear on the edges, small tears and age marks on the cover, blunted corners. The colors of the illustration remain clearly visible. Consistent with the condition of a 1933 periodical.
