Description

This document is an original copy of the illustrated newspaper "Lisette", dated Sunday, May 21, 1933, visible at the top right of the cover. This magazine, entitled "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Newspaper), was published weekly and was aimed at a young female audience in the 1930s. The issue presented here is number 21 of the thirteenth year (619th delivery), as indicated at the top left. The cover announces 16 pages of content and a price of 25 centimes.

The front cover, perfectly visible in the photo, features the "Lisette" logo on a blue background, framed by stylized floral ornamentation. Just below, a large color illustration signed Levesque shows a rural scene: several young girls and an adult woman are gardening, with tools and a basket of vegetables in the foreground. The title of the main story in the issue, "Paulette, jardinière" (Paulette, the Gardener), is printed at the bottom of the image, accompanied by a note indicating that the story continues on page 16.

The page shows visible signs of wear, typical of old papers: there are traces of yellowing, some brown stains, and a slight crease in the upper left corner. The paper seems to have retained relative flexibility despite its age, with no apparent major tears on the visible side. The colors of the illustration remain clearly legible, with vivid tones for the period: blue, red, yellow, green, and brown dominate the composition.

The publishing information is clearly printed: the newspaper was published in Paris, 1 rue Gazan (XIVe), as mentioned in the box on the right below the title. No other interior content is visible in the photo, but the mention "16 pages" suggests rich content, typical of illustrated youth press of that period.

The general presentation of this issue is consistent with the aesthetics of French youth periodicals of the early 20th century, with sober typography, an airy layout, and a full-page narrative illustration.

Condition

Used item, sold as is: the cover shows signs of wear, visible stains, and a slight fold in the upper left, but remains complete and legible.
