This old issue of the "Lisette" newspaper, dated Sunday, May 28, 1933, is a true testament to the illustrated youth press of the 1930s in France. The cover features the title "Lisette" in white cursive letters on a blue background, framed by stylized floral motifs, with the mention "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Newspaper) and the weekly publication clearly indicated.

The colorful cover presents an illustrated rural scene, typical of the imagery of the era: a young girl in an orange dress, identified as "Colette la peureuse" (Colette the fearful), is surrounded by farm animals (pig, hens, geese) and a woman in an apron in the background, in a rustic courtyard. The illustration is done in a clear line style, characteristic of comics and youth magazines of the 1930s, with a palette of soft and slightly faded colors.

In the upper left, we notice the issue number (N°22, Thirteenth year, 620th delivery) and the mention "16 pages". The original price (25 centimes) is clearly visible in the upper right, as well as the publisher's address "Bureau: 1, rue Gazan, Paris (XIVᵉ)".

The paper shows an antique patina, with visible signs of wear: blunted corners, small brown spots (foxing), a slight crease in the lower right and a slightly dog-eared upper edge. The cover also shows characteristic wear of old paper, with no major tears visible on the presented side.

The overall presentation faithfully evokes the aesthetic of children's periodicals from the early 20th century, with a clear layout and narrative graphics. The title of the main story, "Colette la peureuse," is printed at the bottom of the cover, accompanied by the mention "(Voir la suite page 16)" (See continuation on page 16).

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Visible signs of use on the cover: crumpled corners, small stains, slight paper patina, handling marks, but no major tears observed on the shown side. The interior is not visible in the photo.
