Description
This lot features an old copy of the illustrated magazine "Lisette," dated Sunday, March 19, 1933, issue 12 (thirteenth year, 610th installment). This periodical is identified as the "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Newspaper), a weekly publication aimed at a young female audience, typical of French youth press from the early 20th century.
The cover, highly representative of the 1930s aesthetic, features a large color illustration created in a clear line style characteristic of children's comics of the era. It depicts three characters in front of a house: a man in a postman's uniform handing a letter to an elegant woman, accompanied by a young girl in a pink dress. The title of the main serial "Le Secret du lac" (The Secret of the Lake) is clearly visible at the bottom of the page, accompanied by a mention of continuation and reference to pages 8 and 9.
The top banner of the magazine displays the "Lisette" logo in white cursive letters on a blue background, framed by stylized roses. Also indicated are: "16 pages," "Price: 25 centimes," as well as the office address (Paris) and the mention of weekly publication. The paper has a cream tint, with an aged patina and visible oxidation marks on the cover, particularly on the bottom right edge.
The general condition shows typical signs of use for a periodical of this era: slightly dog-eared corners, small brown spots, yellowing of the paper, and handling marks on the spine. No major missing parts or tears are visible on the front. The printed illustrations and texts are clear and legible, without apparent fading.
The cover layout, with yellow inserts for the page count and price, as well as the retro typography, confirm the authenticity of the early 1930s period. The publication stands out for its attractive graphics, classic youth magazine format, and illustrated content focused on comics and adventure serials for young female readers.
