Description

This old issue of the "Lisette" newspaper is an authentic copy dated Sunday, June 24, 1934, identifiable by its illustrated color cover. The front page features a dynamic maritime scene titled "L'Enfant du Naufrage" (The Shipwrecked Child), depicting two characters on a rocky promontory, one holding a lantern, with a stormy sea and a visible shipwreck in the background. The illustration, signed E. Dotz, occupies a large part of the cover page and sets the narrative tone of the content.

The cover bears the title "Lisette" in stylized blue lettering on a cream background, framed by red and green floral motifs. The mentions "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Newspaper) and "Parait : Chaque Semaine" (Published: Every Week) are printed in black below the title banner. This issue is the 25th of the fourteenth year (677th delivery), comprising 16 pages, as indicated in the upper left. The original price, 25 centimes, is clearly visible in a yellow box in the upper right.

The item shows a characteristic patina of old publications: yellowed paper, small scattered stains, slightly dog-eared corners, and signs of wear, particularly on the lower edge. The colors of the cover remain well-contrasted despite the passage of time, highlighting the vintage charm of this copy. No handwritten annotations, major tears, or visible missing parts on the displayed side.

The newspaper is printed on matte-looking paper typical of the 1930s. The publication details indicate "Bureaux: 1, rue Gazan, Paris (XIVe)" and the precise publication date is shown in the upper right. The table of contents or interior content are not visible in this image, but the cover announces the main story: "L’Enfant du Naufrage" (see pages 8 and 9).

The graphic style, typography, and layout are characteristic of illustrated youth press in France during the interwar period. This newspaper historically targeted a young female audience, as evidenced by the mention "Journal des fillettes".
