Description

This old issue of the "Lisette" newspaper is an illustrated publication intended for young girls, dated Sunday, February 11, 1934. The cover, visible in the photo, presents a colorful scene showing several children gathering hay, illustrating the tale "Poucette and her sisters." The full-page illustration occupies most of the cover and features three little girls and a boy in a rural setting, under trees, with hay bales and period clothing. The color palette consists of green, ocher, yellow, red, and brown tones, typical of children's imagery from the 1930s.

At the top of the cover, the title "Lisette" is highlighted in a blue cartouche adorned with stylized red roses. It includes the mention "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Newspaper), as well as the indication "Parait : chaque semaine" (Published: weekly). The issue number (6), the fourteenth year of publication (657th delivery), the original price (25 centimes), and the precise date are all clearly printed. The editorial offices are indicated: 1, rue Gazan, Paris (XIVe).

The newspaper has 16 pages, as specified in the yellow box at the top left. The overall condition shows a used patina: the cover is slightly browned, typical of old paper, with small handling marks and slightly dog-eared corners, especially at the top right. No major missing parts are visible on the displayed side.

The typography, illustration style, and layout are characteristic of French youth press from the early 1930s. The title of the main story, "Poucette et ses sœurs," is clearly legible below the image, accompanied by a note inviting readers to continue the story on pages 8 and 9. No other interior content is visible in the photo.

This newspaper is a true testament to old children's publishing, with its fairytale illustration, stapled format, and period colors. It is aimed at anyone looking for a vintage illustrated periodical, typical of publications for young girls from the early 20th century.
