Description

This document is an old issue of the youth newspaper "Lisette", identified on the front page by its illustrated cover and characteristic header. The title "Lisette" is printed in blue on an oval background, framed by two stylized roses. It is issue number 26, dated Sunday, July 1, 1934, as indicated in the upper right corner. This weekly periodical, subtitled "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Newspaper), contains 16 pages, information mentioned in the yellow box on the left.

The cover features a polychrome illustration depicting several female characters and a boy in a domestic interior. The composition emphasizes daily life, with 1930s period clothing and a family atmosphere. The scene is signed "Levesque" in the lower left corner. At the bottom of the page, the caption "Un clair rayon dans un ciel d’orage" (A bright ray in a stormy sky) accompanies the image, referring to a story to be discovered on page 16.

The paper has a yellowed appearance, typical of old prints, with visible foxing, especially on the lower and side edges. The corners are blunted, particularly in the upper left and lower right, indicating historical handling. The side binding is not visible in the photo, but the spine appears straight and untorn on the exposed part. No major missing parts, deep folds, or significant tears appear on the shown face.

The printing remains clear, the colors are well-preserved for an item from this period, with a dominance of pastel tones (blue, yellow, green, brown). The publication details are legible: "Prix : 25 centimes" (Price: 25 centimes), "Parait : chaque semaine" (Published: weekly), "Bureaux : 1, rue Gazan, Paris (XIVe)" (Offices: 1, rue Gazan, Paris (14th arrondissement)), as well as the mention "Quatrième année (227e livraison)" (Fourth year (227th issue)).

This vintage youth newspaper testifies to the graphic and editorial style of children's periodicals from the 1930s in France, both by its layout and its choice of illustrated subjects. The item is presented here as observable in the photo, without adding or extrapolating on its interior content.

Condition

Used item sold as is. Presence of foxing and traces of time on the cover, blunted corners, but the whole is stable and legible on the visible side. No restoration observed on the shown part.
