Description

This lot features an old issue of the illustrated magazine "Lisette," dated Sunday, May 27, 1934. The visible cover features a color illustration, typical of interwar youth periodicals. The title "Lisette" appears in blue in an oval cartouche, accompanied by the mention "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Newspaper), confirming its primary target audience as young females. This issue No. 21 (fourteenth year, 672nd delivery) has 16 pages, as indicated in the upper left.

The cover illustration shows a lively village scene in a graphic style characteristic of the 1930s, with characters dressed in traditional costumes. The scene is captioned "RUDE FRANCHISE," the title of the main story announced at the bottom of the page. The color printing on the front contrasts with the paper's patina, which shows an ivory to yellowed tint, typical of period papers.

Price information ("25 centimes") and office address (1, rue Gazan, Paris) are clearly visible. The left edge shows the binding staples, typical for this type of weekly publication. The cover shows small brown spots (foxing) and slight wear on the edges, with no major tears visible on the presented face.

The period typography and the aesthetic of the illustrated scene are typical of early 20th-century French youth press, with a simple layout and a predominance of pastel colors. The clothing and architectural details well illustrate the rural or village atmosphere often highlighted in this magazine.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The cover shows a general patina, foxing marks, and some visible signs of wear on the edges. The spine appears intact on the visible part, with no tears on the front cover.
