Description
This document is an old copy of the magazine "Lisette", issue 14, dated Sunday, April 7, 1935, as indicated on the top right of the cover. It is an illustrated periodical intended for young girls, explicitly titled "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Magazine). The full-color cover depicts an indoor scene, featuring four female characters in period attire, including two young girls wearing colorful coats (orange and blue) and matching hats, accompanied by an adult woman and an elderly person. The scene is titled "Jacqueline receives".

The title "Lisette" appears in blue handwritten lettering surrounded by a yellow and green medallion, adorned with two stylized roses. The header also mentions "16 pages", "Price: 25 centimes", and its weekly periodicity. The address of the editorial office, at 1, rue Gazan in Paris (XIVe), is clearly visible.

The cover is printed on paper yellowed by time, typical of publications from the 1930s. The edges are slightly irregular, with no visible recent cuts, and the top edge shows minor wear without major loss. The color print offers a sharp contrast between the different garments and the interior decor, with patterns of curtains, a framed mirror, a drawer table, and a rug, faithful to the graphic style of the period.

The inscriptions and iconography are typical of interwar youth press, with a meticulous layout and narrative illustration. The mention "Quinzième année (717e livraison)" (Fifteenth year (717th delivery)) at the top left attests to the publication's longevity at that date.

The issue number and date, as well as the promise of "16 pages" and a "journal des fillettes", make it a representative testament to French youth press of the 1930s. No major structural defects are visible on the presented side, apart from a patina of use and slight traces of time.

Condition
Used item, sold as is. The cover shows general yellowing of the paper, minor handling marks, and slight wear on the edges, without significant alteration of the illustration or visible text.

Did you know? Launched in 1921, "Lisette" magazine influenced several generations of young French readers. Each week, it offered illustrated stories, comic strips, and practical advice, and stood out for the quality of its color cover illustrations at a time when most youth press was in black and white.
