Description
This vintage issue of the illustrated magazine Lisette, dated Sunday, August 4, 1935, is an authentic copy of the famous "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Newspaper). The cover features a large blue-green "Lisette" cartouche adorned with two stylized roses, typical of 1930s layouts. The inscription at the top indicates that it is issue 31 of the fifteenth year (734th delivery), sold at the time for 25 centimes. The edition has 16 pages, as indicated at the top left.
The cover scene, in color, illustrates a rural moment with a blonde girl wearing an orange skirt and a blue top, holding a basket and surrounded by chickens and an old man with a white beard. The title of the main story, "Le collier de jade (Suite)" (The Jade Necklace - Continued), is mentioned at the bottom of the page. The graphic atmosphere, costumes, and rural architecture are characteristic of early 20th-century French youth iconography.
The paper has a beige hue with a visible patina, typical of old publications. The edges show some signs of wear, including creases and slight indentations at the bottom left, but the cover remains generally legible and complete. The colors of the illustration retain their original vibrancy despite slight fading due to age.
The inscriptions are clear: "Lisette," "Journal des fillettes," the office address (4, rue Gît-le-Cœur, Paris), and the original price. No details of the back or interior pages are visible in the photo. The side binding is apparent, with some signs of use corresponding to the document's age.
This vintage magazine is a valuable testament to 1930s girls' youth press, combining narrative illustration and retro charm. The item is ideal for lovers of old newspapers, historical comics, or vintage decor.
