Description

This document is an old copy of the illustrated newspaper "Lisette", issue 17, dated Sunday, April 28, 1935. On the cover, the Lisette logo is clearly visible in white lettering on a blue background, accompanied by two yellow inserts indicating "16 pages" and "price: 25 centimes". The edition is presented in the form of a stapled booklet, typical of early 20th-century youth periodicals.

The cover features a color illustration depicting a rural scene titled "L'embarras de Dame Aloyse". Three characters in traditional attire are seen in front of a village backdrop, with half-timbered houses, trees, and a bell tower in the background. The scene is bordered by a black frame, and the mention "(See the story on page 16)" appears at the bottom right of the illustration.

The newspaper shows an aged patina, with visible signs of wear on the edges, generalized yellowing of the paper, and some brown stains, characteristic of old papers. The top edge shows slight warping, but this does not affect the readability or the solidity of the copy. The corners are rounded from use and handling over time.

The visible inscriptions specify that it is a weekly publication, "Journal des fillettes" (Girls' Newspaper), published in Paris, 1 rue Gazan. The year number is legible: "Fifteenth year (720th delivery)". The overall graphic design, both for the lettering and the cover illustration, is emblematic of the youth and popular style of the 1930s.

This type of old youth newspaper, with its colorful drawings and moralizing stories, is a precious witness to illustrated children's press in France during the interwar period. The overall condition remains good for a periodical of this era, with a well-preserved cover and still vibrant colors despite the passage of time.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Yellowing of the paper, handling marks, stains and visible wear on the cover, rounded corners. The whole remains solid and the cover illustration is still clearly legible.
