Description

Painted molded metal body, with a post-war sedan line, featuring an elongated hood, marked rear fenders, and cut-out window openings. The two-tone livery combines a deep gray on the upper part with a bright red on the sides and rear.

The underside features a blackened metal chassis bearing the embossed inscriptions "FREGATE RENAULT", the "CIJ" logo, and the mention "MADE IN FRANCE". The gold-finished wheels complete the ensemble and retain a beautiful visual presence.

Context

CIJ, Compagnie Industrielle du Jouet, is one of the major French manufacturers of miniature cars in the 20th century. Its molded metal productions, particularly of Renault models, are part of the boom in French automotive toys in the 1950s.
