Description

This administrative document, visible in the photo, is a prefectural decree of occupation issued by the Maritime Service of Bridges and Roads (Ponts et Chaussées) of the Bouches-du-Rhône department, specifically for the Port of Marseille. It is an original document dated 1954, preserved on official public service letterhead paper, with period typography and numerous regulatory mentions. The page includes a handwritten reference ("N° 1309") as well as a discreet administrative stamp.

In the upper left corner, the mentions "PONTS ET CHAUSSÉES", "DÉPARTEMENT DES BOUCHES-DU-RHÔNE", "SERVICE MARITIME", "DOMAINE PUBLIC DE L’ÉTAT", and "2e Arrondissement – 2e Subdivision" are clearly printed. The purpose of the decree is an authorization of occupation for the "Société des Services Auxiliaires de l’Armement", with an indication of its registered office in Marseille.

The layout presents an official structure: the title "ARRÊTÉ" in capitals in the center, followed by the formulation of reasons, the request, the decision, and the articles. Several dates are legible, including the petition of April 9, 1953, and the deadline set for January 31, 1955. The text details the rights and obligations related to the installation of floating equipment, with precise conditions for the use of the public maritime domain.

The document is printed in black on cream-colored paper, which shows signs of age: slightly dog-eared corners, discreet handling marks, and natural patina over time, with no major tears visible on the presented side. The typewritten characters, as well as the handwritten annotations and stamps, reinforce the authentic and official nature of this archival piece.

The visible side shows no illustration, only administrative text spread across the entire surface. The typography and presentation are typical of the 1950s, faithful to the practices of French administration of the time.

Condition

Used document, sold as is. Shows moderate signs of use: slightly folded corners, patinated edges, some handling marks, but overall legible and well-preserved for its age.
