Description
Vintage RMC radio station advertising sticker, typical of the 1970s-1980s vintage period. The item presented here is oval in shape, predominantly white with instantly recognizable vivid red graphics. The center features the inscription "RMC" in capital letters, surrounded by three concentric red ovals, creating a dynamic, retro visual effect. At the bottom, a red diamond pattern recalls the iconic visual identity of the Monegasque station, reinforcing the sticker's authentic appearance.
The visible surface has a nice glossy appearance, typical of advertising stickers from that era, with some traces of wear and light scuffing around the edges, attesting to its age and previous handling. The oval cut is clean, with a small round protrusion on the lower right edge, characteristic of some models produced for promotion.
The "RMC" lettering is perfectly legible, as is the very discreet mention at the bottom of the sticker, "j. ramel nice," likely the name of the original printer or manufacturer. The contrast between the bright red and white gives the whole a strong visibility, true to the advertising spirit of late 20th-century radio communication media.
The graphics, both simple and impactful, are typical of the visual codes of the 70s-80s: bold colors, geometric patterns, and brand highlighting. The item, through its visual authenticity, perfectly illustrates the advertising design of the period, with a sought-after retro aesthetic for decoration or recreating period atmospheres.
The sticker is shown in the photo with only the front face visible; no details of the reverse or the condition of the adhesive are observable. The front surface, however, shows good overall preservation despite some superficial marks and small material losses on the bottom edge.
Condition
Used item, sold as is. The visible face shows slight traces of wear, handling marks, and some small scratches on the edge, without altering the readability of the main pattern.
Did you know? RMC (Radio Monte-Carlo) was founded in 1943 and became one of the most famous French-speaking general radio stations, broadcasting from Monaco across the Mediterranean and a large part of France. RMC advertising stickers were frequently distributed in the 70s and 80s to promote the station to motorists and listeners, and today are emblematic of the history of media and visual communication of that era.
