Description

This listing is for a vintage audio magnetic tape reel, presented in its original white cardboard box. It is an "open reel" type medium for recording and playing back analog sound, typical of tape recorder equipment used before the digital age. The reel is made of transparent plastic, revealing the neatly wound brown magnetic tape inside.

The visible side shows a classic round reel, with three internal spokes and a central three-notch hub, standard for mounting on tape recorders. The magnetic tape itself has a uniform dark tint, with no visible inscriptions or markings on the exposed part. No logo or manufacturer's name is apparent on the reel or box on this side.

The square storage box is white, with a slightly raised lid. The corners and edges are clean, and the inside of the box has some small visible stains, indicating its age. The overall impression clearly evokes audio equipment from the 1960s to 1980s, a period when this type of medium was commonly used in studios, institutions, or at home.

The transparent plastic reel offers good visibility of the tape's winding condition. No major defects are visible on the reel itself. The absence of any handwritten or printed label on the shown side gives the object a minimalist look, typical of some technical packaging of the era.

This type of magnetic tape was primarily used for analog recording, duplication of music, voice, or sound documents, and remains popular for the preservation or digitization of old sound archives.

Condition

Used item sold as is. The reel and tape appear visually in good overall condition, with no apparent breakage on the shown part. The box shows some signs of aging (stains on the cardboard), with no visible structural impact.

Did you know? "Open reel" magnetic tapes were commercially introduced in the late 1940s and remained the standard for professional audio recording until the 1980s, before the arrival of compact cassettes and digital. They are still used today for sound restoration and the preservation of historical archives.
