Description

This volume is a hardcover comic book, illustrating the album "Destination Moon" from the famous series "The Adventures of Tintin" by Hergé. The visible cover is orange-yellow, with a characteristic red frame, and highlights an iconic scene: Tintin, Snowy, and Captain Haddock seen from behind in a blue jeep, heading towards the famous red and white checkered rocket, being prepared on its launch pad. In the upper left is the classic round medallion with portraits of Tintin and Snowy on a green background, circled in yellow. The title "DESTINATION MOON" appears in black capitals, topped with the mention "HERGÉ THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN".

The album is identified as "DOUBLE ALBUM" by a white label located in the lower part of the cover, below the central illustration. This detail indicates the probable presence of two episodes or enriched content, specific to certain editions. The spine and corners of the book are in a similar tone to the cover, with a slightly glossy appearance. A visible number on the vehicle's license plate ("252") is present, as well as elements of industrial scenery (scaffolding, mountains, service vehicles) in the background.

The visible side of the album shows good color readability, without major discoloration. There are some traces of wear at the top of the spine and on the edges, as well as slight marks or scuffs in the upper left corner, typical of regular use. The cover surface has a glossy appearance, with good overall preservation of the illustration and lettering.

The graphic style is that of "Ligne claire", specific to Hergé, with precise drawing, clean flat tints, and bold colors. The general presentation is faithful to the classic Tintin editions, with a layout immediately recognizable to fans of Franco-Belgian comic books.

Condition

The album is used and sold as is. The cover shows visible traces of wear on the spine and corners, as well as some superficial marks, without tearing or loss of illustration on the visible side.

Did you know? "Destination Moon" is the sixteenth album in The Adventures of Tintin, first published in 1953. It is the first part of the lunar diptych, followed by "Explorers on the Moon". Hergé was inspired by the scientific advances of the time to imagine a realistic space expedition, anticipating the conquest of the Moon by several years.
